PRE-PROFESSIONAL: Ages 6-18
Classical Ballet School provides pre-professional, classical ballet instruction in a formal, small-group setting for students committed to learning and progressing in their understanding and execution of classical ballet technique and artistry. Depending on the student’s level, additional classes in contemporary dance, conditioning, character dance, musical theatre, and variations are included.
A student’s progress in ballet is a long-term endeavor that requires consistent attendance and regular practice over the course of many years. CBS class sizes are limited and are filled on a "first secured" basis - placement is determined by the Director.
Performing experience is an essential part of the Classical Ballet School curriculum. Attendance at all rehearsals is expected. All CBS students perform each June in an original, full-scale, professional-quality ballet. Our ballets have included Coppelia, Hansel & Gretel, The Twelve Dancing Princesses, The Wizard of Oz, Beauty and the Beast, Sleeping Beauty, The Snow Queen, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Rapunzel, The Nightingale, Snow White & Rose Red, Raven Wing and The Princess and the Pea.
